Talley rings/tikka rifle - Talley 740714 Med Rings & Base Set For Tikka T3

These were purchased to replace the original supplied Tikka T3 lite rings. The rings were perfect to fit the receiver but did not align perfect according to the alignment bars in horizontal plane. I had to lap the rings which took several events of applying lapping compound. I cant say that I was successful in achieving 100% surface contact, but the scope did eventually side in the lower halves without resistance and there was at least 80% surface fit of the lapping bar according to the wear indicator of paint removal. Be careful with the screws starting correctly in the receiver! Hold the ring base up and watch the screw start before tightening down. The screws are very soft and easily strip. I know this from previous experience and find this to be the greatest weakness of this product. All in all I have had good results with talley rings and have them on 4 different Tikka rifles.
