This ring set is specified for a Remington 700 short action rifle, says so right on the page...too bad they send the wrong mount screws with the rings. Remington uses a 6-48 screw size to mount scope rings to the receiver of their rifles, but Talley, for some reason, sends 8-40 scope ring screws - the screws don't fit in the receiver! You have a choice of buying different screws (NOT available at a hardware store, BTW) or taking your gun to a gunsmith and having them re-tap the screw holes. No, I'm not going to re-tap the holes myself, even if it is a simple job - they should send the right screws!
