I have purchased other thumb rests before, both polymer and steel, and this one is so much more professional looking and feeling. It is apparently well made, I won't be sure until I actually use it at the range - so far I have only dry fired the gun with this particular thumb rest. It also attaches to my accessory rail more readilly since it had the threads built into the opposite side of the thumb rest side instead of having a separate nut to attach the unit.
