jqar45's Review of TANDEMKROSS Double Kross Double Magazine Body, Ruger 10/22
The TandemKross DoubleKross gives you two of the most reliable 22LR mags in a package the size of the Ruger BX-15! Plus it’s clear so you can quickly check ammo count. TandemKross offers a great service kit to convert two 10/22 BX-1 mags into a DoubleKross 20rd mag, and you can use it for any field service or cleaning. Just note, this is just the DoubleKross body; you will need to use the internal parts from two Ruger 10/22 BX-1 mags to make a complete functional DoubleKross magazine. There’s an excellent video on the TandemKross website. I very highly recommend these mags if you have a lot of Ruger 10rd mags and want higher capacity mags! Use those ultra-reliable mags you’ve already got!!! NOTE: I found that the end plate should not be rotated 180 degrees. Although it does fit perfectly into place, it can cause problems as far as locking up in the magwell, sometimes not even fitting into the magwell itself! I had assembled 7 DoubleKross mags and was having problems with 5! So I took my trusty Dremel tool and started grinding away plastic. I was on my third one when a package arrived from TandemKross with green rotors. So I replaced the rotors and reassembled the mag and was about to grind away when I realized I had rotated the end plate. So I did a quick function check, and it worked just fine. So I took the 4th DK mag, replaced the rotors, and rotated the end plate 180 degrees, and it worked perfectly! Same thing with the 5th DK mag! I went ahead and took the 5th one apart, rotated the end plate and reassembled the mag. It would lock in the magwell if I pushed hard. I have extended lever magazine releases on my 10/22’s, and the lever wouldn’t look in place as it should. A quick reassembly with the plate rotated, and the DK mag locks quickly, easily and firmly in place, mag release lever along the bottom of the trigger guard where it’s supposed to be. Actuate the lever and the mag drops as it should! I emailed TandemKross about this issue and they were surprised but they said they were going to look into it, so this may not be an issue anymore!?! So, just a “Heads Up!” Enjoy! Shoot Straight! Shoot Fast! Shoot Shoot!!!!
