Greybeard's Review of TANDEMKROSS Ruger 10/22 Manticore X Lower with PRO Bundle

You need a barrel, receiver, bolt, and charging handle. I used an old factory 10/22 receiver I've had for decades, already had a Volquartsen bolt in it. Everything else is supplied in the kit. In my case, I also purchased a Tandemcross barrel... Everything assembled easily. The forend, if you can call it that, is a bit tricky to get right. I ended up needing some longer hex bits than what were supplied in the kit. The resulting rifle is incredibly lightweight, and looks great. There's a bit of shake in the folding stock. I have a Matador Arms Sidewinder folding stock adapter on another rifle, and I much prefer their design to this one. This one is fine... it's stable, functional, and looks great, but a bit loose. Trigger is clean and crisp... maybe 3 lbs. It's not real light, but breaks nice. I have not yet done any adjustment to it. As a fast action range toy or rabbit and squirrel rifle, I doubt I'll ever need to touch the factory trigger. The kit provides 2 receiver pins with spring detents and a steel bolt buffer, with a large head on one side and spring detents on the other. All seem to work very well, and fit my ancient factory receiver perfectly.

I mounted a low profile adapter from BadAce and a Vortex Venom red dot. Makes a great snap shot sight for this sort of lightweight rig. The angled stock option gives perfect eye alignment for the low profile red dot, about the same height as iron sights would likely be. Not much of a cheek weld on that thin aluminum bar, but that's not really what it was intended for.

Can't wait for the blizzard to melt so I can venture out and shoot the thing :D
Pros:
  • Great fit, easy assembly
Cons:
  • A bit of shake in the folding stock adapter
Best Used for:
  • Go fast range toy, squirrel and rabbit gun
