Maybe this scope would be good as a stand-alone unit but I tried using it on my AR-15 co-witnessed with the iron sights. The long, narrow tube puts the aperature so close to rear sight that the two blur together making using the iron sights difficult to use.
Also the "dot" is more of a squiggle, even at the lowest setting.
BUT it zeroed easily and was simple to install.
By the way, if you are intending to try and use it on an AR-15 like I did, you'll need to buy a 3/4" high ring to get a perfect co-witness. The Burris Xtreme Tactical works well.
Pros: Inexpensive and simple - zeroed easily.
Cons: Not right for the AR-15
