Will Smith's Review of Tasco Roof Prism Binocular, 10x25

We all know these aren't mageprice binocuars. And for a bugout bag, stick these ones in it. I bought and examined 3 of the lowest cost small binocs for bugout bags. The Tascos thugh cheap have really nice clarity Before anyone should consider approaching an unknown location, they really should examine it from a good distance. Though the field of view is smaller than larger binocs, so is the rist of a reflection giving you away. There are a couple downsides to these but not enough to detract from a 5 star rating for the optic itself. 19 the case oesn't have a belt loop design that I would expect to last very long. No bggie, i wouldn't put them on my belt anyway. These are an optic you pull out when you need them and you aren't going to need any binocs in 2 seconds since you're examining something at distance for planning. The lenses are nice and clear and teh magnifcation is what it says it is. Rubber coating to help prevent shock damage. For the price, you can't go wrong. The other 2 I examined I wouldn't give 5 stars to. I'd give them both 3 stars -- possibly 2 stars for one of them.
Pros:
  • Small, compact, really nice lens clarity
  • Lght weight
Cons:
  • Weak case belt loop
Best Used for:
  • General usage
  • Emergency pack, scouting from distance
