I got this bulb yesterday,and compared to the old halogen it blows it away.The long range is not as good, but the "usable"range is 1000 percent better.The different power settings are exactly what one needs in a light.It's great, you don't need 700 lumens when looking for something under your bed (etc.)
Pros: Extremely bright,variable light levels
Cons: Not as long a throw as before
