Gary's Review of Tier One FTR Aluminum Bipod

I am very happy to write a review for this piece of brenchrest precision shooting equipment. I shoot ARA Factory Class with my CZ 457 MTR rifle, but it has a rounded fore stock which allows it to easily cant left or right while aiming the rifle. Even though I have an expensive joystick type front rest, it still allowed the rifle to easily cant left or right. Because of this problem, I switched to a bipod. As with most bipods, it is a universal front rest, with folding legs, that can be used in the field for hunting or for benchrest shooting. My type of benchrest shooting is for precision competition. The bipod was much more stable than the adjustable front rest, but under certain conditions, it could be a little unstable. Because of all these reasons, and not interested in buying a new rifle, I began looking for a better system for my precision shooting. I did a lot of research on the different types of stable front rests and liked best this Tier One FTR bipod. It does not appear to be designed for field use, but for the purpose of benchrest shooting. It is very stable and easily adjustable for elevation, and the windage adjustments are made the same way as with any other bipod, physically moving the whole bipod left or right. Additionally, it is very easy to adjust and tighten down the rifle to being level. The Tier One has most of the normal different types of attachment systems. I chose the swing stud attachment and found it to be a very tight and secure attachment. I found the bipod to be made with quality aluminum, to tight specifications and overall appears to be pure quality. Using it for the first time, I was and still am, very impressed and pleased with the stability of this bipod. There are screw down tension adjustments to each arm to lock the elevation adjustment in place if desired or needed. The ARA Factory Class target consists of 25 small individual targets, 5 rows with 5 targets per each row with one shot per target. Because of the layout of the ARA target, there is a lot of vertical and lateral movement (adjustments) for each target. The Tier One FTR makes it very easy to make the necessary adjustments needed to traverse from target to target. At a practice session the other day, several other shooters that use a bipod system tried this Tier One FTR and was also very impressed with it. Those that tried the Tier One were also impressed with the stability of it and a couple of them indicated they are interested in purchasing one.
I guess the bottom line is that I am very pleased with the Tier One FTR bipod and my decision to purchase it. So far, there is nothing negative to say about the Tier One FTR.
