MLone's Review of Timney Triggers Ruger Precision Rimfire Trigger

I ordered the straight trigger and at the time I was able to get it for considerably cheaper than this one. I ordered it in the middle of February with a delivery date of March 3. After many extensions on the delivery date which I see is ridiculously out there now, I was told by them to look at the curved trigger. I decided to order it even though it wasnt what I wanted. I would have thought they would have matched my original purchase price but they didnt and also made it so I couldnt put any discounts on it. I installed the trigger and it has a nice feel to it but my finger doesnt meet up with it, off the grip, like it would if it were straight. I settled. The 1/2 lb first stage comes to a distinct wall. That take up is about 1/8" or a little more. The break is at 1.5 lbs on my Wheeler trigger guage. The reset is almost immediate and you are instantly at the wall. I have this on my Ruger Precision Rimfire 22 so reset is not really that important. Its a nice trigger. The stock trigger was good at 2 lbs so I expected the Timney to improve already good target results. Targets are the same or if there is an improvement you need a microscope but that might be because of my finger placement. Would I buy again? No. Would I advise against buying it? No. If a curved trigger suits your needs I am sure it will feel the same as the flat as long as you dont have the type grip that I have. Angle grip might be better with this trigger.
Pros:
  • High quality
  • EASY INSTALL
  • Adjustable
  • Good Function
Cons:
  • high price
  • have to transfer parts
  • prefer straight trigger
  • have to take gun apart to adjust
Best Used for:
  • Precision shooting with angle grip
