Junior's Review of Timney Triggers S&W M&P 1.0/2.0 Alpha Competition Pistol Trigger

I have a S&W M&P9 that came originally with the curved/hinged trigger. I was looking to replace that with a flat trigger and was looking at the Apex and the Timney as my main choices. I liked that the Timney has the hinged safety instead of the blade style of safety. Knowing the reputation of quality Timney has, I decided on the Timney. I had replaced a trigger in another M&P9 with the Apex before and was happy with it, just not crazy about the blade style safety. So when I received the Timney kit, I installed it myself, as I did with the Apex previously on my other pistol. And the installation was very easy. I am very pleased with the Timney trigger. Very distinct break, reset and it reduces the pull, I don’t have a trigger pull gage, but I would guess it right at 3lbs as it claims. I took it to the range and I am very happy with the Timney, the break, the reset are perfect now, as for the pull, it was a little bit of a learning experience, as it is much lighter than original.
But now that I have shot it and got some more experience with it, it’s perfect. I would recommend this trigger for anyone who is looking to upgrade their original trigger and clean up the gritty, harder pull and especially it you like to work on your own guns, the install is very easy with the instructions and video that Timney has available.
Pros:
  • crisp break,
Cons:
  • none I experienced
Best Used for:
  • Range, competition
