Toolbox's Review of TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary Trigger

This trigger is a fantastic upgrade for a Remington 700. It is not an amateur gunsmith job to install it, yet also not extremely difficult. You must be careful not to damage the bolt release spring as it can get deformed rather easily. Also pay attention to the instructions to drift the pins to the proper sides and not to overdrift them. My only complaint with this trigger is that the bolt release bracket along the side of the trigger housing is much thinner and more flimsy than the factory one. As a result, the bolt release on the Triggertech feels cheap and does not operate nearly as smoothly as the factory original - it is something I am willing to get used to being different, though, because the trigger itself is phenomenal. This trigger will make your 700 feel like a custom. It is light, crisp, and a very noticeable improvement in both feel and accuracy over the factory trigger. I used to think 700 triggers were good until I installed this one. :D
Pros:
  • Crisp, light, adjustable, great value, huge improvement over factory
Cons:
  • Flimsy bolt release, likely difficult for amateur installation
Best Used for:
  • Accuracies for bench shooting and/or hunting
