Tom F's Review of Triggertech Duty Remington 700 Rifle Trigger
I purchased this trigger, and really liked the crisp pull. The trigger comes with easy follow, concise instructions. Installing it was a snap.
Now for the negatives. After installing the trigger, I began the opperational and safety checks. Everything was fine untill I got to step 7. Here again, everything was fine until I got to the part where you are instructed to actuate the bolt, take the safety off and tapped the rifle stock. That when fine too. Then I got to thinking, what about tapping other areas of the stock, even though the instructions do not call for this? So I began tapping other areas, like the side of the stock near the trigger, nothing. That's good. Then I tapped the grip butt/cap, THE TRIGGER ACTUATED! THAT'S NOT GOOD! It actuates every time I repeated this.
Not being sure if I received a defective trigger, or I found a design flaw, I tried contacting Triggertech. I called them.....several times with no answer. Left them voice mails, I sent them emails, all with no response.
Finally I called customer service at Optics Planet. I was told I could get a refund, no questions asked. I went on there website and able to get a RGA easily.
Optics Planet gets 5 stars, Triggertech, not so much.
So, now I have a problem. Which trigger to I buy? Do I go with another Triggertech trigger product, or purchase another brand? What would you do?
