John Clark's Review of Trijicon ACOG TA02 4x32mm Rifle Scope, 32mm Tube

What can you say about an ACOG other than "Its an ACOG!"

This optic is phenomenal, the glass is beautiful, crisp, clear, color correct.
The reticle (crosshair) is perfect. Its thick enough to use quickly and easily but also fine enough that it doesn't obscure too much of targets even out at 500-600yds.

The eye relief is "short" on paper but the actual eye box is pretty forgiving. And the field of view is fantastic.

The reticle illumination is just as bright as any red dot I have ever used, with the new lithium AA battery that comes with the optic anything above setting 4 is so bright the reticle is completely blown out but that makes both eyes open shooting as a pseudo red dot very easy. It also means that you will have useful illumination for a very long time so you don't need to constantly worry about replacing a half used battery.

AA batteries (lithium) last a very long time, are extremely easy to find, are lightweight and fairly inexpensive. I can buy a 4 pack of AA lithium's for the price of 1 battery that powers my Aimpoint.

The optic is lightweight, compact, has an excellent field of view, excellent glass and a fantastic reticle.

The case it comes in is nice, well made, seems durable and comes with a few things needed to clean/care for the ACOG.

Ive wanted one of these for years and am glad I finally decided to spend the money.

I still love and use an Aimpoint and magnifier combo on another rifle but if I could only have 1 it would be the ACOG + RMR
Pros:
  • Light, compact, durable
Cons:
  • $1300 price.
