Bradley's Review of Trijicon Credo CR624 1-6x24mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, Second Focal Plane

This scope is an amazing scope. For a sub 1k scope, I think it is currently the best on the market for what I want from a LPVO. FYI, I got the FFP Red Segmented Circle. By far the biggest con of this scope is the brightness. It is not near as dim as most scopes on the market, but it is not daylight bright (not red dot bright). It is daylight visible. On max brightness in the middle of the day, you can see the illumination, but it is just not quite bright enough to act as a red dot (The green reticle is no where near as bright as the red. IMO, do not even consider getting the green). The segment circle works really well within 25 yards for quick target acquisition. The fine reticle lines make precision shooting very easy unlike other 1-6,1-8 scopes on the market. I use an offset red dot for up close shooting so it being not quite daylight bright is not a huge issue.

The glass quality is amazing especially given the price. The glass is better than many scopes in the $1250-$2000 price range. Very little distortion around the edges. The eye box and eye relief are really good. Not as good as scopes like the TR24, but way better than the Nightforce NX8.

Because of the included zoom lever nob, you do not need to buy a scope throw lever. There are a few mounting places for it and you screw it into the zoom lever where you would prefer. This allows you to have the throw lever go from the 8 o'clock to the 2 o'clock position. Even with an offset red dot mounted right inline with the zoom lever, it never gets in the way because of the mounting position of the lever.

Overall, I think this is a fantastic scope. If you want an LPVO to have a daylight bright reticle, keep looking. If you are going to have an offset or top mounted red dot for up close engagements and primarily use the scope for 100 yards and farther, I would highly recommend this scope.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • great glass
  • good eye box
  • Zoom Lever Included
Cons:
  • not daylight bright
Best Used for:
  • defense
  • Medium range
Would Recommend: Yes
