I am a Certified Glock Armorer, NRA Instructor and work for an FFL. I have advanced experience with the old all Steel Glock Sight tool and the new Plastic Glock Sight Tools.
This Trijicon Sight Tool was AMAZING!
This tool works on all 9mm and .40 Cal Glocks including Glock, 26, 19, 17 and 27,23,22.
Advantages include the ability to maneuver the slide forwards and backwards before locking it down in the press. When you do lock it down the lock is very tight and positive, securing the slide. This tool will NOT mark up the slide OR the rear sight. It does an excellent job at drifting the rear sight into place.
I was very, very impressed at how slightly I could maneuver the rear sight. The threads on the press are very thick and strong but are so tight I could move the rear sight a micro amount. I am extremely critical of sight tools as I liked using the Old All Steel Glock Sight Tool which they no longer manufacture. This Trijicon version is even better!
Another stark advantage was the levels and rotary knob. The tool is designed so that you can get a very positive and powerful grip on the press both to drift the rear sight AND to lock down the slide. This is important because the tighter the tolerances of the tool, the more powerful is its ability to drift the sight in small increments.
This tool drifts the sight extremely smoothly. Is able to move even the toughest and most stubborn rear sights, and can drift the sights in small, even micro distances due to its tight tolerances and sturdy steel construction.
I work for an FFL dealer and I frequently install sights on many firearms. I have 5 very expensive universal tools and 2 of the new plastic glock sight tool as well as one of the original all steel glock sight tools which they no longer make. This Trijicon tool take all of the strengths and incorporates none of the weaknesses of the former tools. It is the best sight tool in the shop and does the job accurately, and without marking up the sights or the gun.
I was also impressed by its light weight compared to other sight tools in the gun shop. I was able to easily install Trijicon, Meprolight and True Glo sights as well as factory glock sights.
This tool also comes with a front sight tool.
Some of the advantages include this front sight tool is a double ended tool. One side is a powerful metal punch which works well on removing the pins that hold the gun together. It also works on a wide variety of guns. Another advantage is the thick positive grip in the middle of the tool which serves as the handle. It is very easy to get a hold of the tool and apply torque and pressure. I own other metal front sight tools but none of them have a handle that is as easy to grip as the front sight tool which comes in this package.
I was very impressed with the front sight tool because it has a decent reach, enabling me to really apply good pressure to those very tine front sight screws. If you strip one, you know how "screwed" you are. No pun intended. My other all steal front sight tool was too short and didn't have enough length to be able to manipulate those tiny front sight screws. This Trijicon front sight tool has a good amount of length, an excellent grip, fits the front sight screw heads very tightly and does an excellent job at driving them into place. The addition of a punch on the opposite end was an excellent bonus.
All in all I give this product 5 stars and I would expect no less from Trijicon. Best investment you can make if you put night sights or adjust the sights on your gun.
Pros: Fits wide range of glocks, easy to use, does not mark up gun or sight.
Cons: None
