Orange front sight was not as bright as expected - Trijicon Heavy Duty Night Sights For Glock

Dave B.'s Review of Trijicon Heavy Duty Night Sights For Glock
The orange front sight on my set was back-ordered, a fact not posted on the Optic Planet website, but only discovered after ordering with rush shipping. OP offered to change it out for the yellow sight, but based on internet reviews on this and other sites, I stayed with the orange. That was probably a mistake. The orange paint does not appear to be florescent like a traffic cone color, rather just plain ol' orange. It doesn't really "pop" or stand out like the yellow one probably would have. I bought these sights because, in my mid-50's, my old eyes needed a front sight that would really draw my eye to the dot. I had a friend who is an armorer mount the sights and they feel sturdy. There is not anything wrong with these sights, I just thought they would be brighter. Maybe someday a sight manufacturer will better acknowledge the needs of aging shooters with more expendable money to spend on sights than some of our younger brethren. If/when that happens, that manufacturer will become rich beyond the dreams of Midas. In the interim, these will have to do, as they appear to be our best option at this time.
Pros:
More visible than other hybrid sights
Dual illumination characteristics
Solid and sturdy mounting
Size of orange ring on front sight
Orange is fairly bright in direct sunlight
Cons:
Not quite bright enough in orange
Best Used for:
All uses, SD, Target, LE Work
Would Recommend:
Yes
