Ur Moma's Review of Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated 1x16 mm, 12.9 MOA Triangle Reflex Sight
I don’t currently own the optic, but I was able to view multiple Trijicon products recently at their roadshow, so I think I should write a review.
The Amber is So much brighter overall in the sunlight, it’s an actual red dot Eotech bright.
The Green is better for absolute dark back environment, but the Amber was made for night vision. The Green is actually brighter in absolute darkness with the tritium.
All the optics are Exactly as shown, the 9 MOA dot is actually very Large, the 7 MOA dot is large but smaller and the brightest under the sunlight.
The Triangle is an actual Large Triangle But is actually more accurate than a dot reticle, even the 7MOA is fairly far to large for extended accuracy compared to a triangle.
And Green and Amber have a tint, but they are actually nearly the same in darkness in color of tint, so it really doesn’t matter. Both are easy to see through the tint layer.
If you have astigmatism, or nearsighted like me, glasses (or a magnifier) are a great way to get a red dot actually extremely crisp. Another option is an iron sight hole.
In the daylight the green is adequate, but is quite faded or underwhelming in a green triangle. Under shade it’s quite less noticeable but in direct light it’s good.
I consider the green the best option for me wanting a night optic, but amber being brighter maybe a better option for you in daylight. The amber was quite darker when covering the top fibers, as the Trijicon staff that were extremely helpful at the Roadshow told me the green is frighten at night, amber was made night vision again.
I would say this product is actually far superior in comparison the Meprolight M21 or any other product. The Amber 7MOA dot or triangle is probably the brightest and most useful optic, probably under rated in comparison as they don’t have any electronic to break.
All the products and reticles are exactly as shown, a 13MOA dot or 9MOA dot are going to be Very large in comparison. If you have astigmatism you likely won’t be able to see the triangle tip as well.
