Could be brighter... - Trijicon RMR Dual Illuminated 1x16 mm, 12.9 MOA Triangle Reflex Sight

So if you're after a holodot sight that is usable in all illumination conditions, then this isn't the sight for you.

When in good strong ambient light the triangle is quite clear, distinct and easy to pick up against most any background I've looked at through it.

In all around ambient dark conditions the tritium provides adequate illumination. It's not as quick to the eye as when the fiber optics are gathering light however.

Mixed lighting conditions is where it struggles, and can be hard to pick out the reticle. For example if you're in a low to no light room, and are looking outside against a light background the reticle can be almost impossible to find. There's not enough ambient light inside for the fiber optics to harness, and the tritium isn't strong enough to provide sufficient glow.

I will continue to play with it and update my review as necessary. My main reason for buying was not to use as a home defense gun, but to as closely replicate a TA01ADF as possible.

Here's an idea Trijicon.....tri-illumination....add an LED illumination into the mix, and use a small light sensor (facing down range) to drive the output of an LED. Effectively then in no light it switches the LED off and tritium is the only light source, bright light were fiber optics provide the dominant light agin switch the LED into low output, and anywhere in between where the LED provides supplemental illumination.
