PRW's Review of Trijicon Ruger SR9, 40, 40c, HD Night Sights
The reviews and design ultimately led me to buy the night vision set for my new Ruger SR9C; HOWEVER the following is what you should expect.
I had a Professional Gunsmith with 20 or 30 Pulse years experience & is a ex cop install your sights and when we went shooting to test them it was less than positive. At 50 yards the sights are shooing 9 to 10 inches LOW when the original sights were DEAD ON.
The view ability to pick up the front sight in the read sights was better, BUT there is not any real outstanding glow or distinction that makes it POP or stand out against the targets. The reddish/orange front sight is best & the rear green dots are too small and DO NOT pick up light in the day time as advertised. The rear sight grove is fine but but the dots do not work well together.
They said the sights were not adjustable & this is a MAJOR ISSUE my gunsmith measure them and said the reason the gun shoots so low is the from sight is way to high. There are NO returns but when I called to discuss they said they have 3 different height front sights? This is not mentioned in any adds or web sights. Oh I could purchase one to try but can not return anything that does not work.
I do not care how good this company thinks they are, I care about doing what you say, telling everything about your products up front & in this case I expected another front sight at a minimum.
The lady I spoke with DID provide with 2 other companies which I have calls into. KENSIGHT.COM who has a FULLY Adjustable REAR Trijicon Tritum sight and we are trying to verify if they will fit my SR9C.
Williams Gun Sight, Inc. also sells FULLY Adjustable sights that suggest they Really pick up light Night/Day and the best news is the set cost $62.95 YEA!
So do waste your time & money like I did on sights that shoot 8 to 10 Inches low at 25, 50 yards that do not show up well as stated. I will gladly sell my set to anyone who still wants to waste 2 weeks $35 for Gunsmith set up fees & the frustration of knowing they have other sights that might have been better but DO COMMUNICATE UNTIL AFTER THE DAMAGE IS DONE.
