Bob's Review of Troy Tritium 45deg Flip Up Offset Sight Set, M4 Front & Dioptic Rear

Got these and was impressed by the quality of the sights themselves but the hardware and mechanism to attach to a picatinny rail leaves something to be desired. First they don't have the same 2 part clamping mechanism that the non-offset sights have, but you can tell that from the images. The part you can't tell is that they they don't quite tighten on a standard picatinny rail with the included slotted/flathead screws. In fact I was starting to strip the screws and still had a noticeable wobble to the mount. I called the manufacturer for suggestions and they said that their sights are designed for their specific rails and they only come with the slotted type screws. I ended up purchasing a GROVETEC GTSW265 (bipod stud rail mount) from Bass Pro for the hex head screws it came with. They worked perfectly and were easy to tighten these sights to the rail without an issue. My only complaint is that I had to use another manufacturers screw set/hardware to get these to work on a standard rail, especially considering the price.
Pros:
  • Sturdy
Cons:
  • Bad Fit
  • cheap screws
  • Clamp design is poor
