Benw8887's Review of Truglo Omnia 1-4x24mm MSR Rifle Scope w/APTUS-M1 mount

So, I just received this optic 2 days ago, and I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet (I will come back after and report back). Also, the day I got it we had a very gray day, with snow showers and very little sun, so I wasn't able to see how the illumination held up to bright sunlight, although I suspect it will be fine. On that note, the horseshoe reticle is what lights up and it was plenty bright enough inside a home. The 1x magnification is exactly that, there is no fish eye effect from the optic and with both eyes open things appear as they are, rather then having any distortion around them. There is almost no difference from field of view to past the edge of the optic. The zoom lever is tight right out of the box, and seemed to slightly loosen with a little use, so I think it will loosen up a little more use. How much it loosens up I have no idea, hopefully I can report back here with a little more use.
Right out of the box, the optic felt like a quality piece. It was heavy, but not like junk heavy, but robust, and it wasn't to heavy. My scale had it at ~16.5 oz with mount. The only thing I didn't like so far is that the reticle seems small. But I can't complain on this as I haven't shot it yet. I plan on taking it to the range soon, I'll report back with an update. So far, I'm very surprised with the quality of this optic.
Pros:
  • Bright illumination
  • Feels like quality
Cons:
  • None
Would Recommend: Yes
