Most Helpful Positive Review Best bang for the buck
I bought this as a budget scope for my ak. I have a EO-tech on my spikes ar. Now I'm not going to try and fool any one here, the EO is the better of the two by far, but for the price difference, no way. This little thing hold zero with the best of them, is made very well, and very light weight in my...

Most Helpful Negative Review Defective and the worst customer service.
Optics Planit will not stand behind this sight. Told me to go to TruGlo. Product was defective from the start. I will inform the 350 members in the private gun club that I belong to so that they can avoid Optics Planit. Pros: None Cons: Cheep, Made in China, waste of money

Shotgun mounted and has not lost its Zero

by ChuckO, from VA, United States Written on May 20, 2022
For the money and open reflex design, I consider this a "best value" after having used them on 2 different 12 gauge defensive shotguns. I was skeptical that it could withstand the repetitive recoil but was pleasantly surprised.
Pros:
  • Price
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Home defense weapon
  • Rapid Sight Acquisition

Great sight for steels challenge

by Billsnature, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on April 9, 2018
Bought this to use in steel plate shooting. the choice of 4 reticles is great. I use dot with circle for speed stuff and the small dot is great for accuracy work. Quick accurate and seems reliable. Nice features are use of common 2032 battery as opposed to some harder to find options. Wish it came with a cover
Pros:
  • accuracy
  • bright
  • speed
  • multiple reticle styles
Cons:
  • no hood
  • heavier than Vortex Venom
Best Used for:
  • Speed shooting, accuracy
Would recommend: Yes

Mounted On AK-47 With No Issues!

by Orlandoech, from UT, United States Written on April 12, 2016
-------------------------------
OVERVIEW
-------------------------------
This review is on the TRUGLO TG8380B Red Dot Sight (RDS) w/ Multi-Reticle. The TRUGLO TG8380B has a very wide FOV (Field of View) with a 24x34mm window for faster target acquisition.

-------------------------------
BUILD QUALITY & MOUNTING
-------------------------------
Keep in mind, this is a budget-friendly RDS, not an upper echelon RDS like EOTECH, AIMPOINT, etc. For the price amount of this RDS, do not expect it to hold up and be as durable as those optics. With that in mind, overall the build quality is good. I no real qualms with it as I don't run, fall, crawl, dive, dip, dodge into mud or any sort of terrain that would require me to have a top of the line optic. I simply use this on a CenturyArms RAS47 AK-47 for recreational use both indoors and outdoors; nor have I dropped my AK purposely or accidentally to see how the optic holds up.

The TRUGLO TG8380B is a lightweight with a compact design that isn't considered "micro" nor is it too large and cumbersome or smaller rifles, shotguns, etc. I have it mounted to a Side Mount Rail to my AK-47 and it does not overwhelm the rifle with it's size which is great.

The TRUGLO TG8380B comes with an Integrated Weaver-style mounting system so a separately purchased mount is not needed by any mean. It is ready to go. For the price, I really like this RDS for rec use and would recommend it based off my actual experience with it.

A good deal for the $

by fastmaninstructor1, from TX, United States Written on August 22, 2014
I originally purchased this sight for even less than it is advertised on this one; but it was on a sale. I first mounted it to my Bushmaster Patrol rifle and it worked well but then moved up and switched it to my S&W M&P15-.22lr training rifle. On this rifle it excels! I have only one little gripe but not big enough to vilify the optic. As time passes, the reticle "flickers" as you make changes in intensity or switch between the reticle legends (new batteries made no difference)&I can live with it. That's it...I have had no other hiccups and will keep this thing on my .22 M&P. I didn't use it for an extended period on the Bushmaster but that is not the optics fault. I think for the money it is hard to beat.

Bang for Buck

by Legacy Reviewer, from SC, United States Written on October 7, 2013
A good value for a rugged sight. Like the 5 sizes of dot, 5 brightness levels, and 2 colors so you can do precise indoor target shooting with the small dot and low brightness.
Pros: Holds zero, rugged

Nice value

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on August 28, 2013
Very easy to set up and zero on my Rock River AR-15. Bright reticle. I like being able to switch from red to green reticle depending on target color. Positive adjustment clicks are a plus. Held zero after 200 rounds.
Pros: Reasonable cost, solid build, holds zero, positive adjustment clicks
Cons: Lack of on/off switch
