Great tri-color red dot sight! - TruGlo Triton 1x28mm Red Dot Sight

This review is on the TRUGLO TG8365B Red Dot Sight (RDS) w/Tri-Color Multi-Reticle. The TRUGLO TG8365B is TRI-COLOR (3) reticles in green, red, and blue with four pattern choices;

- 2.5 MOA single dot

- 2.5 MOA center dot
- 5 MOA center dot

BUILD QUALITY & MOUNTING

Keep in mind, this is a budget-friendly RDS, not an upper echelon RDS like EOTECH, AIMPOINT, etc. For the price amount of this RDS, do not expect it to hold up and be as durable as those optics. With that in mind, overall the build quality is good. I no real qualms with it as I don't run, fall, crawl, dive, dip, dodge into mud or any sort of terrain that would require me to have a top of the line optic. I simply use this on a CenturyArms RAS47 AK-47 for recreational use both indoors and outdoors; nor have I dropped my AK purposely or accidentally to see how the optic holds up.

The TRUGLO TG8365B is a lightweight with a compact design that isn't considered "micro" nor is it too large and cumbersome or smaller rifles, shotguns, etc. I have it mounted to a Side Mount Rail to my AK-47 and it does not overwhelm the rifle with it's size which is great.

The TRUGLO TG8365B comes with an Integrated Weaver-style mounting system so a separately purchased mount is not needed by any mean. It is ready to go. For the price, I really like this RDS for rec use and would recommend it based off my actual experience with it.

ZEROING & STAYING TRUE

I've zeroed several optics and RDS' in the past and was easily able to zero in the TRUGLO TG8365B in 5-7 rounds. The Elevation and Windage adjustments are crisp and I can feel each individual click which is nice, considering the price of this optic.

One click of elevation or windage moves the Point of Impact (POI) approximately one MOA (1” at a distance of 100 yards, or 3/4” at 75 yards, or 1/2” inch at 50 yards, etc.).

After firing several hundred rounds through my AK, storing my AK, traveling with my AK, then heading back to the range, the TRUGLO TG8365B has stayed true to it's zero and I have not had to adjust it from my original zero at 100 yards.

WINDOW, RETICLE, & BIRGHTNESS

The window is a wide 28mm, it has RED, GREEN, and BLUE as reticle color choices with 4 different reticle patterns. It has a 2.5 MOA dot and a 5 MOA dot, as well as a 2.5 MOA center dot and a 5 MOA center dot. I myself prefer the 2.5 MOA dot in green.

Each reticle pattern/color has 5 levels of brightness; from 0-OFF, to 1-lowest through 5-highest. While I was at the indoor range, I find 1 or 2 brightness plenty sufficient for use, and when I was at an outdoor range during a non-overcast, bright day I found 4-5 plenty sufficient in brightness.

It also has anti-reflection coating on target side, is parallax free from 30 yards and provides unlimited eye relief.

My only gripe with this RDS is that the 5 MOA reticles aren’t as sharp as I’d like them to be, other than that, it’s a great budget RDS for multiple applications.
