Youdontknowme's Review of TRYBE Defense AR Ambidextrous Enhanced Mil-Spec Charging Handle

This pains me because I have had good luck with many other TRYBE Defense products including the AR15 model of this same charging handle on a 300BO. I know this is a low end cheap charging handle so I knew the risk. This charging handle went on Aero M5 rifle. The charging hand immediately started binding when working the bolt that caused shaved off paint on the charging handle and making the rifle very hard to charge. I removed the handle to installed the factory handle which functioned as designed. At this point I noticed that the TRYBE handle was bent. I was able to easily straighten it out by hand as it’s pretty flimsy. Once it was straightened the rifle would charge with an equal amount of force as when using the factory charging handle. More problems arose when attempting to cycle the rifle by hand with snap caps and dummy rounds it could not feed nor chamber cartridges with the TRYBE charging handle installed and in-fact the cartridge would bind and get jammed to the point of gouging and denting the cartridge case. This was caused by the charging handle binding and preventing the bolt carrier from having enough force to properly strip and chamber a cartridge from the magazine. Because of this I cannot recommend the AR10 model of this charging handle.
Pros:
  • comfortable grip
  • locking mechanisim works well.
Cons:
  • part was bent from the get go.
Best Used for:
  • Stirring coffee
Would Recommend: No
