GB's Review of TRYBE Optics Enhancer Scope Magnification Doubler w/ Tube Mount
I love my 1-6 Vortex Strike Eagle on my AR, and I wouldn't change a thing, since it's the best all-around rifle/scope combo I can think of for any way I would use this gun. But I shoot kind of crummy groups at my 100 yard range because I just don't have enough magnification. I always seem to shoot better with more magnification. I would've chosen a higher-powered scope in the first place, but it's more important overall to me to have a low of 1x and super-wide field of view for home defense. The Enhancer, when I choose to screw it into it's quality mount, solves my magnification issue and allows me to shoot much smaller groups at greater distances. I am more easily able to compare cartridges in terms of accuracy now, and simply have much more fun and success while shooting at the range when the Enhancer is installed. It looks and feels like a quality product, and the clarity of the lens is amazing. I notice nothing detrimental to the image when installed, and I really can't tell that it's on the end of my riflescope besides the increased magnification.
It has a secure mount but I thought it was inconvenient to loosen the tiny turret lock screw before adjusting the elevation and windage screws, then lightly snugging the lock screw again before shooting. My initial installation of the Enhancer moved my point of impact almost a foot. Once sighted in again I was able to install the lens at will with no movement in zero, so it was all very worth the effort. I may later choose to use an "enhanced" zero a couple inches high for longer shots. I understand that my reticle can no longer be used as before as a ranging reticle, but I never really understood how to do that anyway. I just use the center of the crosshair as an aiming point.
I'm pleasantly surprised that this does not seem like a gimmick, but instead is a satisfying quality lens system that has greatly increased the performance of me and my rifle, and I'm having even more fun with it now because of it.
