These hearing protectors do not work as well as the $2 construction "look alike" orange hearing protectors from hardware stores that are connected via a blue plastic string and rated at 28 dB.. Save the $ and go to ACE or Home Depot. Tested both with various sounds (including gunshots) on my computer at the same volume and got much better noise/sound reduction from orange construction ear plugs. Will try to return.
