eth77's Review of U.S. Optics DRS 2.0 Enhance Red Dot Sight

I purchased this sight for the autointensity feature. It works, but… it is sensitive only to the illumination where the shooter is standing, not where the target is. Why, because the sensor looks up, not toward the target. Generally this will work, but if the shooter’s illumination is significanly lower than the target, the red dot is significantly weaker.

That having been said, the dot is sharp and varies with lighting intensity exactly as one would wish (the previous caveat applies).

Mounting was interesting as it’s supposed to be a Docter mount, however the screws are M3 and none os the screws with the sight worked for the mount. I purchased another platform, one which supports, Doctor, RMR, Shield, and DPP. Mounting the ERDS on it showed the screws were in place for an RMR mount. I also needed M3x12 to get 3 threads making contact. Following that everything was copacetic.
Pros:
  • light weight
  • Sharp dot
Cons:
  • mounting challenge
  • possible illumination challenge
Best Used for:
  • EDC & Home defense
