Catyack's Review of U.S. Optics TS-25X 5-25x50mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube, First Focal Plane

Bought this to put on top of a Bergara B14 HMR Pro in 300 WM. First impressions are that the glass appears to be super clear. Only very slight distortions at the very edges and only at max magnification. The JVCR reticle is very intuitive, easy to use and not at all intrusive. When tracking, it seems that the turret adjustments are precise and dead on, and the parallax adjustment seems to be very accurate as well. The clicks on the turrets feel smooth but positive. Obviously this is not a Foundation Series scope, but at 1/4 of the price i'd put it up there with some of the more expensive series Vortex glass. According to USO website, the TS series is assembled "overseas", but upon return to the US each scope is then individually hand inspected and has included with it a full hand written QC inspection checklist done by a US employee. If i had to find anything wrong, i'd say that i'd like to see some hash marks on the turrets, and the included scope caps could fit a lot better. Not a deal breaker by any means, (this is a review of the scope, not the scope caps) but the objective cap is useless as it just falls off. In conclusion, i'd have to say this scope is a winner, especially for the price Optics Planet has it for. And with the US Optics Lifetime warranty, you can't go wrong. I'd definitely buy again.
Pros:
  • High end quality for low cost
Cons:
  • Scope caps suck
Best Used for:
  • long range shooting
  • Target & Competition Shooting
