JMauzy's Review of Ulfhednar Shooting Tripod with Ballhead Arca-style

I am a law enforcement marksman on a full time SWAT team. I have 7 years prior military as a sniper and currently hold the position of marksman. I have been in law enforcement for 15 years. I tested out the tripod as we were looking to update our teams’ aging equipment. I found the modularity of this tripod to be outstanding. It has been used during several training events, special events and call outs. The ability to remove the center post and lay this tripod flat on the ground or the tonneau cover of a truck bed makes this item work anywhere. You can also remove a leg and use it as a mono pod or as standing bipod. I really enjoy the ball head to lock items into the tripod as I have added Swiss arca rails to my Vortex Fury binos, spotting scope, bolt rifle and entry rifle. The ability to lock items in and have full use of these items are awesome. I would like to see some changes, but I will list them below. It took some time to get use to the twist lock on the legs of the tripods but after some practice, I was able to get the hang of it quickly deploying the tripod. The overall stability of this tripod is amazing for the size and weight of the product. I would recommend this product for operations and for long hunts. It is defiantly packable, and the weight is bearable at 5.2 lbs with the Arca ball head. I stand 5’11” and I had plenty of room to extend this tripod out and still have room for adjustments if I were taller.

The cons I would like to see improved on is a quick throw lever for the Swiss Arca rail device to get into and out of the ball head quicker. Also, quarter turn tighten and released devices for the legs of the tripods. I was on an extended call out and moved into and out of several positions. It would be nice to quickly adjust and collapse the tripod if need be.
