Excellent red dot - Ultradot Matchdot Red Dot Sight

I bought this Matchdot red dot sight to mount on a Ruger MkIII Competition pistol (22LR). I had done well enough with the iron sights, but as the eyes are aging I will try the red dot. As others had cautioned, the rings that are included are pretty basic, and when attached to the Weaver rail provided by Ruger, they don't come together at the bottom even though they do at the top. The scope itself, however, works very well for me. The dot is precise and round when viewed outdoors, and I only needed it set on 4 when shooting under a cloudy sky. It was very easy to zero; only took 3x3 round groups to zero it at 15 yards to the Ruger pistol. I chose to shoot with the dot set on the largest size of 8 moa as it evenly filled the bull on the 50 foot pistol target. All in all a very good optic, though I will look at getting better rings in the future.
