Overall a great quality item. - Uncle Mike's Reinforced Instructor's Duty Belts

I purchased this belt heeding the warnings of other reviews, that this belt runs small. I wear a size 44 pants, and with all my normally carried items on I usually hit the hole at 48" on my previous belt, so I purchased the belt in an XX-Large (Size 50-54). When I received the item it was apparent to me before even feeding it through my belt loops that this item was to large. After getting the belt on and all my items affixed, I was able to cinch the belt down to it's maximum tightness and still could have stood to go another inch or so. So I returned the item and exchanged it for the next size smaller. The X-Large (44-48) was than to small. With the belt on I would only just hit the Velcro to secure the flap end and it would come undone under any sort of movement.

Here are a few things I took from this.

1. These belts are true to their size. You do not order these from your pant size, you order them from your previous belt length, (i.e. If you measure your old belt to the hole you use, and said hole is within that size range, the belt will most likely fit perfectly. The size of this belt I currently posses, when measured to it's minimum and maximum length, is almost exactly (Give or take 1/4 inch) the size Uncle Mike's advertises.


2. These belts are not infinitely adjustable like other web-style belts. This should have been apparent to me off the get go, being a reinforced belt, but it was not.


Though I did not get any long-term use out of this belt, it feels and appears to be of excellent quality. The nylon is very rigid, the Velcro seems of good quality and holds very well, the finish on the buckle is a matt black paint that appears of good quality and the belt also has a very sturdy 4-Row stitching and I did not notice any fraying or loose-ends out of package. I did not notice any issue in my short-term use with the floating section of the buckle coming out. In fact I fidgeted with it for 5 minutes or so trying to get it out but was unsuccessful in my attempts.


Overall I would recommend this belt based on quality, but be very aware of the sizing. If you are at the top or low end of the sizing scale of the belt (i.e. you need a 36 and the top end of the size is a 36), it will probably not work how you anticipated it would.
