Needed flexability to attach to Bianchi shoulder rig. Uncle Mikes pouches were easy to relocate from belt worn location to the front panel of shoulder rig allowing rapid access to ammo...Leather pouches were to stiff for this location change in this circumstance.
Pros: flexability allows easy relocation of poaches
Cons: Needs to be just a little heavier material
