Oregon Mark's Review of UST See-Me 1.0 LED Strobe
I had one of these years ago for SAR. It had a xenon (?) bulb than out a great amount of light that could be seen at least a mile out. Fast forward to now and was thrilled to find these relative inexpensive signaling devices were now available with LED. I was able to outfit each of the PFDs. We fortunately did not need to use them for “emergency purposes, but did try them out on a lake for a nighttime kayak excursion. I could easily pick out our kayakers in the darkness, and likewise they had no problem staying together.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- easy to use
- rugged
- relatively inexpensive
- excellent light and strobing effect
- Uses commonly found AA batteries
- Also available in auto activation upon immersion
Cons:
- none noted
Best Used for:
- Occasional water sports/fishing
- inland waterways
