TX2A's Review of V Seven Titanium Mag Catch/Release
The Titanium mag catch works but for the money, there are better options out there. I didn't end up using the mag catch button that came with it, because it was too shallow for my ZEV lower. The biggest negative is the machining marks on the face. It is the only part you actually see on the gun and it is covered in circular swirls. For the cost I expected it to be just short of perfect. Overall I am not impressed. 2A Armament has a similar lightweight mag catch for less than half the cost and the button works. The 2A unit has superior machining and the finish is also superior. In addition, I also have the V7 ultralight mag catch made out of 2055 Lithium Aluminum which also has a much better finish than this one. All things considered, I would pass on this one.
- I have noticed since about 2020 that many top-tier companies have been sacrificing their normal quality control standards. I would assume this is due to the increase in demand. Although I am understanding it is disappointing, to say the least. Long term customers losing trust in a companies products seems like a good enough reason not to skimp on QC, but the dollar can be very persuasive.
