Mike C.'s Review of Vanguard Pioneer 400RT Waist Pack, 6L, RealTree Xtra Camo
I am very picky about my hunting equipment and expect a lot from it. First and foremost is durability. If it will not hold up to what I am putting it through, I might as well just use a paper bag from the local grocery store. Second, but just as important, is how quiet the gear is when I remove equipment under hunting pressure. I have missed several big deer due to noisy gear and that did not make me happy at all. I can say without any hesitation that this piece of gear will make the hunt this year. Not only does it meet my criteria as explained above I actually tried to break it while testing it and I could not. I think those zippers got more of a workout than my Levi's during a night of heavy drinking. I like the storage capacity of the pack, it held all my light hunting equipment without any problems while allowing for ease of accessibility. I like the durable carrying handle and large waist wraps as it makes it easy to hang on the tree while hunting. The only drawback that I see with this pack are the mesh pockets on the sides, which are not all that useful for me. I think that they would be better served as zippered pockets versus a mesh opening. Additionally, the hand warmer is way too small they either need to reconfigure this with bigger openings to allow for lightweight hunting gloves, or scrap it as an option to this product.

Cons:
- None
