Don't buy those cheap plastic brands. You wont be happy at all. With just a few extra bucks, you'll have a spotting scope that will outlast you, and your sons. The hard case is very nice. The optics are clear, and focus easy. The tripod is heavy duty, and easily adjustable. A good tripod makes a world of difference in a spotting scope. This tripod is usually $79 by itself. I am very pleased with this purchase!!!
