cihood's Review of Vector Optics Streak 4x22mm Rifle Scope
This scope provided me with the first time that I was able to definitively say "this scope cannot hold zero". After 3 trips to the range, and 15 boxes of ammo (or more), I was not able to find a consistent zero point.
After bore sighting, I took it to the range and shot at 25 yards to get it onto the paper. Then moved back to 50 yards and shot various types of ammo and came away disappointed and confused with the results. Before the next trip to the range, I tightened the main tightening lever (which curiously seemed a bit loose after having tightened it pretty tight).
The 2nd trip to the range, I started at the 50 yard target and shot a couple of groups that seemed promising.
That evening upon inspecting the rifle, the main scope lever was a bit loose again. I was able to put another full turn on it to get it tight again. Then I noticed that the Phillips screws that hold the mounts to the scope body were loose, all 4 of them. A couple of them were just about to fall completely out. I tightened everything up again.
The 3rd trip to the range I shot 1 3-shot group that looked great. I then shot a second 3 shot group on a clean target, 2 of them were at the point of impact of the previous 3 shot group, with one very wild flyer. The next 3 shots (same ammo), were printing where the flyer was. I tightened everything up again and adjusted the scope but never could get the groups to stop moving around. Its going in the trash.
