Marty McClung's Review of VECTRONIX SHOOTING SOLUTIONS Vector X 42 MSR-SMR 12x42mm Rangefinding Binocular
As a 64 year old guy wearing glasses I really appreciate good glass, the 1st time I looked through Vectronic binos I said I have to get a pair! I also liked the compatibility with Applied Ballistics, I use their app. The only disappointment was after spending a lot of money for these I opened the box all excited and found some of the packages that contained accessories were opened, so I emailed Optics and they said I could return them and wait 10 days for inspection then they would send another pair. I didn't want to wait plus the binos looked ok, so I downloaded the Vectronics app and tried to link them, no go, no code showing to link to the app, no connectivity. Now I really bummed, so I went to good old Youtube because I'm sure there are a ton of videos on how to troubleshoot them, not really much, a lot of reviews but not much for fixing issues. So I ran across factory reset on the menu and thought what can it hurt, pushed the button and now everything worked and connected. I don't know if these were a return or a floor model or what, but they seem ok. There's a lot of smart guys out there that do really good videos, someone record some troubleshooting tips besides a chicken dance.
Also my elevation numbers were different on AB than on the Vectronics app so my numbers in the binos were different than AB by just a little, so I increased my velocity on the Vectronics app until my holdover numbers matched AB. Shot the 1st time last weekend and everything seems to be ok, 240, 400, 610 yards shots hits first time with bino info.
I will end on a positive note for Optics Planet, they gave me 13% off for their sale, Euro Optics the importer wouldn't budge off list.
