Vg6 gamma 762 - Aero Precision VG6 GAMMA 762 Muzzle Brake

I purchased this item to finish out an AR10 Precision Rifle build in .308 Winchester/7.62x51 NATO. My objective was to optimize recoil reduction and enhance muzzle recovery to facilitate quick follow-up shots and, resultantly, to support greater shot-to-shot accuracy. The manufacturer advises gunsmith installation; however, I was easily able to do the job using basic AR multi-tools. I hasten to add that my barrel was pre-threaded, I've done several AR builds in the past, and I felt comfortable with the installation. Installation was uncomplicated and took only a few minutes to complete. Alignment was perfect. I immediately liked the line-up. I installed the Gamma 762 on a bull barrel and the diameter of the device blended well with the barrel contour providing a streamlined appearance without the look of a "tank muzzle". As always, proof of the pudding came at the range. Experienced recoil effect was indeed akin to mild 5.56 mm/223 loads (as advertised)...and probably less owing to the configuration and weight of my rifle. Accuracy was slightly better than experienced with the uncompensated barrel. I haven't "milked" out a preferred hand-load, but using on-hand non-match factory ammunition and hand-loads I was able to consistently attain 1 MOA performance. Realizing that many factors influence down-range accuracy, my main concern was that the device did not adversely affect performance. It didn't. As before, I realized a slight gain. I can't wait to see what my build will do with customized, carefully developed match-quality loads. I really like this compensator and highly recommend it.
