Austin T's Review of VG6 Precision Gamma 65 Muzzle Device

We'll start this review off on the positive side, the muzzle break design and finish are amazing and this is the only reson it got 2 stars. However after i installed this break on my bolt action chassis rifle which is chambered in 6.5 creedmoor is a different story. After boresighting the rifle i went to the range to dial it in at 100yds, fired a total of 10 rounds gradually moving in closer to the target until i was at 20 yards and still could not hit the 20"x20" target. At this point i was very puzzled since i boresight every rifle at the same exact distance and have never experienced this. Finally deciding to look over the firearm for anything out of the norm, and found that one of the bullets at one point in time had struck the muzzle break between the 2nd and 3rd port. At that point i hung it up for the day and called vg6 which is actually aero precision. And told them what happened, the only response i have to date from them is that they needed a invoice number and address for a replacement which i have already supplied and here we are 5 days later still have not got a response back for what is going on. IMHO i feel that a company that claims to have excellent quality i feel they should of asked for the damaged break returned for testing to see what the cause of the impact was. After speaking with multiple gunsmiths and firearm manufacturers i have gotten the same response in that the muzzle break was not drilled and reamed concentric or the ports should have been drilled to a larger diameter to prevent the possibility of bullet yaw. Maybe i just got the mut of the littet, but without the company doing tests to determine i will steer clear of there products for safety reasons.
Pros:
  • Nice finish
Cons:
  • Unsafe, doesnt work
Best Used for:
  • Supposedly reducing recoil
Would Recommend: No
