Mark D's Review of Victor Company Titan 1022 Precision Rimfire Stock
The Titan is one of the most popular stocks for the 10/22. It has a good feature set, is well priced, and has a lot of options for upgrading. However, if you're looking for something that feels solid, stiff, and robust, I'd look elsewhere. I ordered the stock just to get some hands on experience with it and wasn't very impressed. Felt more like an upgraded factory stock than a nice aftermarket one. Nothing wrong with it per se, just wasn't what I was looking for.
They market this stock as being a fiberglass stock. I'm sure it is partially, but it's also rather hollow hence the plastic/flimsy feel. It's definitely stiffer than the factory stocks, but a laminate would feel stiffer I think. I'm coming from an MDT Oryx that's just too rear heavy for the type of shooting I like doing, so I have been searching for a cost effective option. Outside of a $1000+ McMillan, I don't think I'm going to find exactly what I'm looking for.
I am being a bit nit picky and it's a good stock. It just wasn't what I wanted and felt I should note what I didn't like about it. I'm sure I was expecting too much out of a cheap stock, but you never know until you try.
