Swamp Yankee's Review of Victorinox Outrider Swiss Army Knife
Pretty much what I expected, SAK quality is still excellent, only thing off was the main knife blade is not perfectly in alignment with its slot, but that doesn’t seem to be a problem.
This knife is large for a “pocket” knife, but everything on the exterior is smooth and rounded so there’s nothing to catch on the interior of your pocket, the closest thing to a protrusion is the lanyard ring. Only the knife blade locks but the release is slick, it’s a square button that reciprocates inside one of the scales. The contact surface of the button is nearly flush with the scale and is embossed with grooves and tiny teeth for ready grip. I found the knife fits neatly between the back edge of my wallet and the inside of my pocket.
With the locking blade & revised ergonomics it’s a nice update to the traditional oval designs my father used back in the 1960’s.
