Old Sarge's Review of Vism Ambidextrous Modular Molle Holster

We purchased this holster because we are assembling SHTF plate-carrier rigs and anticipated placing the holster and pistol mag pouches on the front of the vest. As it turns out, we are putting the holsters on a drop leg plaque and pistol mags on the belt so we can use more of the carrier real estate for other gear.
We appreciate the use of MOLLE attachments on the holster, but some of the features are placed in the way of using the webbing for attaching the holster to the carrier. The muzzle-stop straps in particular would be very useful but become problematical when attaching the holster because they eat up MOLLE space. The attachment straps supplied with the holster are oddly configured and don't seem to weave through the carrier and holster webbing normally as other MOLLE gear does. Some of the webbing is well aligned but some parts are slack or crooked, making attachment difficult. Some of the multiple layers of webbing allow overlapping of attachment and accessory strapping, but are overlaid so tightly as to be unuseable. The internal lacing and straps are very adaptable, but there are no lacing pattern diagrams nor instructions included, and the user is left on his own to dope out how to configure the holster to serve his exact needs.
We rate this holster as "good".
