AR-556 8500 8529 Owner's Review of VISM M-LOK Handguard, for AR-15/M4
I bought this to replace my standard M-4 style handguard on a Ruger AR-556/8500, as the standard handguard has no attachment points for anything; I had sling through the fixed front site and wanted to mount a light, handstop, and better sling attachment.
This thing is GREAT. Took me all of 5 minutes to install and I'd never removed anything from this gun before.
In response those saying it moves/wiggles - I ZERO movement, not a millimeter, not a jiggle. It is rock solid.
One of the M-Lok slots I used for my light was micrometers off to fit a double length M-Lok attachment. The part fit into other slots, but not the one I wanted to use. But I just alternatively tightened the M-Lok screws until it finally wedged itself in; I'm guessing it stripped either the slot or the mount tabs as it's now flush. Worried about getting it off, but that comes some other day.
Looks like a free float rail, gives me some attachment options where I had none, easy to install, and again ZERO movement.
