Ryan R.'s Review of Voodoo Tactical Hide A Weapon Fannypack Holster

So after finishing a career of law enforcement of 30+ years just recently. I have always had a gun with me. Agency policy said off duty carry I needed my credentials, restraining device/handcuffs, flashlight, additional ammo plus my wallet, my work cell phone and my personal cell I was always on call. Plus whatever else I needed or wanted to carry. I never really liked to open carry which is legal in my state of Nevada. I hated having most of that stuff jammed into my pockets of my wranglers. So being a young man of the 80's I started carrying gun bags.
I used to have a Galco gun bag but they quite making them a long time ago. Which is sad it was a pretty good bag for weapon retention, not much storage thou. So, I started going thru the bag search again. I finally found the Voodoo gun bag at a gun show. I've had two previous Voodoo gun bags, but the front pocket zipper wears out over time (couple of years). My zipper wore out on me just last month and I was in Arizona at a Gem and Mineral show. I stopped at a couple of local gun shops no one had what I wanted. I was directed to a 5-11 store; I bought there only gun bag left as we were doing a lot of walking. There new design sucks and it didn't even have a holster set up for the gun compartment. So my Sig Sauer was sliding around.
So upon returning home I ordered 3 Voodoo gun bags, so I had an extra one on hand. Whoever designed this bag had LE folks in mind. It is an Excellent option for folks that have a CCW and don't want to wear a belly band, ankle holster or on their waist in/out holsters. Most people have No idea when I'm carrying a gun and the ones that do don't typically say a thing. For some this bag might be too big for them I'm 6'4", 215 pounds and the bag fits on me perfectly. Way more Pro's for this current bag design then the Cons in my opinion. Give it a try I think you will enjoy using it. Adios
PS: to Optics planet the word f-anny is Not Offensive when the product that you sell is called "F-anny Pack" I had to add gun bag so it could get past the sensitivity screening
Pros:
  • can hold 3 to 4 mags depending which gun you carry
  • Velcro strip already sewn in place for Police Patch or Velcro Badge for easy recognition
  • I can fit my full size Sig 229 or my compact Sig 239 in the same bag
  • Two solid thumb pulls for opening the weapon compartment from either direction right or left handed shooters
  • The holsters can be set-up for right or left handed shooters
  • The back velcro pocket is good for hiding items that need to remain flat ID or Cash
  • Front Molle Webbing is good for hanging my keys on when boating or my LED light which has a clip on it when I'm out at night with the dog
  • Bag opens fully
  • F-anny bag comes with a velcro holster
Cons:
  • The only item is the front pouch pocket zipper wears out over time
  • A little tight for 5" barrels but it can be done
Best Used for:
  • Off Duty LE folks
  • CCW holders
