Decent for a regular shooter. do not trust it in a real fight - Vortex Sport Cantilever 30mm Rifle Scope Ring Mount

First all understand this is a cheap product made in china. You will have to spend almost 3 times the price to get a well made one. If you are buying this to install on a gun and forget then it will be ok. If you plan on taking it off every now and then even once a year look else where. The unit is beefy, heavy, and sturdy. What is not is accurately cut and the metal feels soft. I installed mine and tq it to spec with a wheeler tool. upon removing it the screw holes were already scored in making the screws almost cross thread and get stuck (On the clamping bracket not the threads). I had to remove the screws completely to free the side cage to get the unit off. This is torquing it to product spec alone. The unit seems sturdy and will withstand a few simple drops. I wouldn't trust my life with it on a battle abuse drop as it looks like it would shear the mounting bracket loose on impact. The mounting design looks somewhat fragile but works for a basic shooter and occasion drill. i ONLY brought this item because it has lifetime warranty in case it takes a dump. It is on my training rifle. My actual rifle I use a Gieselle and seekins which is whole world of a difference.
