M's Review of Vortex Hunter Rifle Scope Rings
”We do not recommend the Hunter Rings for use on heavy recoiling rifles.”
I mounted a one-inch vortex crossfire scope to a 30.06 according to spec with a torque wrench. The scope jumped out of place with the recoil. I called Vortex and they said these rings are made for low-power rifles such as rimfire weapons. They told me that the Vortex website does a better job at indicating this information. Sure enough the the website says: “We do not recommend the Hunter Rings for use on heavy recoiling rifles.”
By the way, Vortex customer service is THE ABSOLUTE BEST customer service I’ve ever had. I found their representative not only to be English-speaking, but very helpful and competent.
