Director- archer mfg - Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x44mm 1in Tube Second Focal Plane Rifle Scope

We purchased this scope at the request of a customer, as part of an AM-10 rifle we were building for him chambered in .308Win. Within 25 shots fired, the reticle rotated 45 deg from the normal horizontal/vertical orientation to an "X" orientation. Obviously, it's broken. It wasn't dropped, it wasn't smacked around or abused in any way. Doesn't have a single scratch on the outside, but within 25 rounds of .308Win the optic died on us. As for the other quality? The glass is clear and gives the user the impression of quality... but the reticle rotating on us almost immediately has the customer wanting anything else but Vortex, and has left us with egg on our face for recommending a company w/ a lifetime warranty, but delivering a scope that can't make it through the second magazine without failing. Contacted Vortex last week. Still waiting on a reply from that rep. I've tried a second POC today... we'll see. The offer of a lifetime warranty is good... it's what sold my customer on choosing this scope over others. What's better than a lifetime warranty? Not having to use it the day you mount the scope and try to zero it.
