Gary's Review of Vortex Crossfire II Straightwall 3-9x50mm 1in Tube Second Focal Plane Rifle Scope

I ordered the scope for a Marlin .45-70 but even with see-through mounts the front bell is way to large to fit properly on the rifle as it nearly touches the barrel and blocks the open sights.
I cannot use it and don't know what to do with it. Any suggestions please?
